The Boston Latin School Archives
The mission of the Boston Latin School Archives and Special Collections is to collect, preserve, and make available school records of permanent historic and research value. Publications such as the Register, Argo, Yearbooks, Catalogues Photographs (students, faculty, sports, music, drama) Memorabilia (programs, invitations, medals, trophies) Textiles (banners, flags, band, sports & military uniforms) Documents, newsprint, curriculum guides. Audio visual material Books by alumni and members of the school community Alumni publications and reunion materials William F. Looney, Jr. ‘49 Special Collection This collection contains papers highlighting the impact of the 1970s Boston Public Schools desegregation lawsuits on Boston Latin School and other Boston exam schools. Topics of interest include student preparation in accelerated Advanced Work Classes, admission tests, student selection and assignment to exam schools, and plans aimed at increasing minority student enrollment.
