The Boston Latin School Archives The mission of the Boston Latin School Archives and Special Collections is to collect, preserve, and make available school records of permanent historic and research value.
The Collections Include:

Publications such as the Register, Argo, Yearbooks, Catalogues

Photographs (students, faculty, sports, music, drama)

Memorabilia (programs, invitations, medals, trophies)

Textiles (banners, flags, band, sports & military uniforms)

Documents, newsprint, curriculum guides.

Audio visual material

Books by alumni and members of the school community

Alumni publications and reunion materials

William F. Looney, Jr. ‘49 Special Collection 

This collection contains papers highlighting the impact of the 1970s Boston Public Schools desegregation lawsuits on Boston Latin School and other Boston exam schools. Topics of interest include student preparation in accelerated Advanced Work Classes, admission tests, student selection and assignment to exam schools, and plans aimed at increasing minority student enrollment. Mr. Looney served as legal counsel for Boston Exam Schools during these cases, from the early 1970s to the late 1990s. For additional detail, see the Looney Collection Finding Aid and .

Recently Digitized:
A comprehensive collection of BLS Catalogues, student publications, and a variety of other documents, dating from 1826-1935, have been digitized through a collaboration with Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education Gutman Library. These are all available through Harvard’s CURIOSity Collections.
