This is the perfect romantic resort. With lush Mediterranean and Moroccan vibes, you won’t even feel like you’re in Palm Springs. The first thing you’ll see is Korakia’s distinct keyhole-shaped grand entrance. In the main courtyard area, there are citrus blossoms, olive trees, oleander bushes, date palms, bougainvillea vines, gorgeous North African-style fountains and a stone waterfall. The villas were built in the ’20s and ’30s, and started life as the brain child of Gordon Coutts, who wanted a way to bring his former life in Tangier back to the States. Fast forward to 2025 and the villas have all been modernised, but you’ll still find numerous antiques and handmade furniture in every room. When you’re not having an extremely long lie-in (hey, we’re not judging), the resort offers plenty of low-key activities in enjoy. Top of the list, of course, are the two heated pools. But also consider making use of their pretty bicycles on which to explore the wider area, or take a Saturday morning yoga class. Breakfast is served in the Moroccan courtyard and to help you make it there feeling your best, you can arrange for fresh coffee to be delivered to your room first thing. Mood? Villa vibes. |
