Adding/Dropping Classes  

Add Codes are no longer needed. Get add authorization. Once the term/semester begins, students wishing to add classes will need add authorization from their instructor.

Students will need to provide their student ID to the instructor. All students must have a current application on file prior to adding. 

WAITLIST RULES:

Students must meet course prerequisites

Students are not permitted to enroll and waitlist for multiple sections of the same course

Students will not be placed on the waitlist if there is a course conflict

Cosmetology and Dental Assisting  

In addition to the college Application for Admission, supplemental applications are required at SJCC for students entering the Cosmetology and Dental Assisting programs.

College transcripts from previously attended accredited institutions may be used to determine a student’s exemption from testing requirements.

Although not required for admission, the student’s official college transcripts from other accredited institutions will be reviewed for graduation from SJCC. All transcripts become the permanent property of the San José Evergreen Community College District.

 

Prerequisite Clearance  

If you would like to sign up for a class that has the prerequisite(s) that you have already met at another college or in other ways, you must provide documentation (i.e. transcript) to the counselor, showing that you have met the prerequisite(s). You can drop-in to see a counselor or you can email your information, click here, to clear you to register for your desired class.

You will need the following:

A Copy of Your Complete Unofficial Transcript(s)

Your SJCC Student ID #

Your Contact Info

Winter Intersession and Spring 2026 Priority Registration Dates  

11/3/25   GROUP 1   Registration begins for EOPS, SAS, Veterans, CalWORKs, Foster Youth, a student parent who has a child or children under 18 years of age who will receive more than half of their support from that student, and students receiving services from a program funded by Rising Scholars Network funds  
11/6/25   GROUP 2   Registration begins for continuing students with less than 100-degree applicable units and HAVE MET the Student Success mandate multiple measures placement + orientation + educational plan)  
11/10/25   GROUP 3   Registration begins for continuing students with less than 100-degree applicable units and HAVE NOT MET the Student Success mandates (multiple measures placement + orientation + educational plan)  
11/12/25   GROUP 4   Registration begins for continuing students with 100 or more applicable units including students on academic dismissal and/or probation II status. Returning students who skipped one semester, and continuing high school students  
11/17/25       Open Registration (Including new high school students)
