If eligible for Apple Health, you will need to select a Managed Care Organization(MCO). All MCO’s cover Essential Health Benefits including hospitalization, prescriptions, preventative, wellness services, chronic disease management, pediatric services, maternity and newborn care. Each MCO offers Value Added Benefits in addition to your health coverage.

Washington State extended postpartum coverage to allow individuals to apply for and receive postpartum coverage throughout the 12-month period after their pregnancy ends. To qualify an individual must:

Must meet pregnancy medical income and residency requirements above and

Have had a pregnancy within the last 12 months regardless of the pregnancy outcome

If on Apple Health during the pregnancy, coverage begins the first day of the month following the pregnancy ending

If Not on Apple Health during the pregnancy, coverage begins the month the individual applies and is found eligible

Not active in another Apple Health program

First Steps medical insurance for prenatal care

If you need insurance that pays for prenatal care, you can apply for "First Steps" - a State of Washington DSHS Immigration status does not apply

A special enrollment period is a period of time outside the open enrollment period when you can enroll in a new health insurance plan or change your current plan.
