Welcome to Flickr, the original and unique photo platform for everything you’re passionate about. You came here for something, right? Let’s jump in!
Setting Up Your Profile The fastest and easiest way to show people you aren’t a bot or troll is to create even the most basic level profile. Click on the round circle with a purple camera in the upper right hand corner and click on Settings. This is where you can update your Personal Information, Privacy & Permissions, Emails & Notifications, and Sharing & Extending links with other social media accounts. You can also customize your screen name, profile photo, and manage your login information or email notifications here. Help If you ever need help or assistance with a specific feature on a site, have an issue, or are confused by anything there is a very active group of users and staff in the Flickr Help Forum. You can search topics to see if your question has been asked/answered before, you can start a new thread, or you can add in on an existing thread if it relates to that topic. Adding Your First Photos Once you’ve got the basics filled in, it’s pretty simple to upload your first photo. Everyone’s workflow differs a bit, but for simplicity’s sake click on the cloud with arrow icon next to your round profile photo in the Navigation Bar. This will open the web uploadr in your browser where you can drag in photos individually, by group, or by pre-organized albums from your desktop. On mobile you upload photos by clicking the camera icon in the middle of the lower navigation bar, then select the photo(s). Invite/Connect Connecting with users on Flickr is pretty easy. You can search for specific individuals using the search bar, typing in their screenname and selecting people, and then selecting their profile to go to their Photostream. Once on their page click on the + Follow button to follow them and/or label the user as Friends or Family. You can also send them a direct message by clicking on the message icon next to the Follow button.
