Hello, everybody,

New to the forum, and I can start contributing by saying that I have the exact same problem as the OP. Exact same make and model (Verbatim-Pioneer UHD Slimline Blu-Ray external Writer, that I got just yesterday), and the exact same problem with both VLAN and iTunes: all .cda tracks are detected, even the database connection is established and I can see names of the tracks and even album covers, but when I press play, nothing happens, all tracks are skipped and no audio.

I have not found a solution, but hopefully together we may make sense of everything by stating the tests and results I've done so far:

- Both softwares updated to latest version.
- Windows 11 Home 64-bit updated.
- I tried forcing a driver update, but none were found via Windows Update or on Verbatim's home page.
- I tried every USB port in the computer, be it 3.1 C-type or 3.0 and 2.0 A-type. No difference.
- I tried playing it with BSPlayer and Windows Media Player Legacy, and both play it without a problem. That's when I started thinking the unit itself wasn't faulty, and it might be a config issue.
- I tried installing/uninstalling the whole bundle of Nero software that came with the drive. Nothing.
- I tried installing the whole Mega version of K-Lite Codec Pack. Same as above.
- I also tried with a different codec pack, CCCP, still nothing.
- I checked for possible Extra Features of Windows that I might have missed regarding media, but found nothing.

- Then I tried with a different laptop, an older Acer one with Windows 10 64-bit Home. The exact same problem: unable to play anything in VLAN and iTunes.
- That older computer has an internal DVD optical drive, that has been working fine for years, and still is: playing from there (the exact same disc I was trying on the Verbatim/Pioneer), both VLAN and iTunes keep playing the tracks without a single hitch, just as expected.

- Now, things get even more interesting: I tried yet a 3rd laptop, this one a Dell with the PRO version of Windows 11 64-bit OS on it. And here... it works exactly as expected. It plays the songs from the first on both VLAN and iTunes, without a single further adjustment, no need to re-install drivers, codecs, etc. Plug&Play, exactly as it should.

So... 3 computers, 3 versions of Windows... and 2 opposite results. But this doesn't solve anything, since I do need it to work on the first laptop (the one with Windows 11 Home), since the second is obsolete and the third one (where it actually works) is not even mine, as I guess is the case also with Delfy.

The first comparison in settings and device admin I've done between the working computer (and the programs) with the others doesn't show anything helpful at first, but I might not be looking in the right places.

Given all this, anyone here has any further suggestions? I know I would be thankful.

Oh, yes, I've written also for assistance to Verbatim Support at support.es@verbatimsupport.eu, but so far no reply. (Maybe I should try Pioneer themselves).

That is all for now.

Thanks, best regards,

R
