He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Ellingson and Velma Ellingson (Newby) of Park River; his siblings, Darrel, Keith and Ginger Suda; and his nephews, Joe Suda and Ken Ellingson.

He is survived by: his children, Jeremy Kartes (Kelly Hobbs) of Crystal, ND, Tyrel (Kristan) of Grafton, ND, Logan (Elizabeth) of Harwood, ND, Chrysti Neilson (Brandon) of Williston, ND and Susan Daniel of Jamestown, ND; and his siblings, Stan of Jamestown, ND, Larry (Dawn) of Parker, CO, Bruce of Park River, ND, Deanna E. Claire of Fargo, ND and Deb Anderson (Robert) of Hoople, ND. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
