Dev was made his debut with 'Agneeshapath' in 2006 with Rachana Banerjee. Nobody watches the film and nobody noticed him. After one year he was appeared in 'I Love You' with Payel. It was Payel's first film also. Everybody appreciated his Dancing but No one Impressed with His Acting Ability and Bengali Speaking. 'I Love You' was the Remake of Salman Khan's Super hit film Maine Pyar Kiya. Jeet replaced Prasenjit Chatterjee and Became Tollywood's Superstar. Nobody can beat him. Tota Roy Chowdhury, Parambrata Chatterjee was not interested in Main Stream Commercial Films. Jeet was the Only Hero in his genre. Dev joined him. Dev became more popular with Raj Chakraborty's 'Challenge Nibi Na Sala'. Dev made his pair with Subhasree from this film. Dev had a relationship with Shubhasree and They separated last year. Before separation, Dev and Subhasree's pair gave many superhit films in Bengali Film Industry. In his 10 Years long career Dev did many films. He mostly did 4 to 5 films every year. (2013) About The Movie : It was the First Time when Dev did an Original Film in his Career. Before this film, Dev was doing only Remakes from Tamil and Telegu. Director Kamaleswar Mukherjee did Tollywood Most Expensive Movie and cast Dev as the main lead Shankar. Shankar is a Fictional Character from the Novel Chaander Pahar written by Bibhuti Bhushan Bandopadhyay. Chander Pahar was a very popular Bengali Novel among all ages of people in Bengal. Director Kamaleswar Mukherjee made this film under the banner of Sri Venkatesh Films. Sri Venkatesh did not want to take any risk and for that Dev got the offer for that role. Director Kamaleswar always said that Dev was the first choice for the role and he wrote the script very cleverly. It was a narrative script and Dev's character did not need to say dialogues. There were very few lines for him in this film. People was not happy with Dev's acting ability especially his Bengali Pronunciation and He is called A Non-Actor by Audiences. That was the main reason why Kamaleswar did not write lines for Dev in Chaander Pahar. But all above Chaander Pahar was the most Superhit Blockbuster film in his Career. Kamaleswar made the 2nd Part of this Movie and 'Amazon Obhijan's shooting is over. Post production is running, It was announced to come in this December.
