The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, founded in 1830, has a modern sacred history. Our story begins with a vision, a new book of scripture, and a people who came together to build a temple. Our faith was tested by persecution and shaped by a dramatic exodus. In the 19th century, Latter-day Saints gathered from different cultures to build settlements and a new religious culture.
