Getting their forces together, the powerful duo of Harmeet and Devesh gave Gujarat its first gold from TT in the Games when they defeated the deadly TN duo of A Amalraj and G Sathiyan of Tamil Nadu in men's doubles final. Devesh was in his elements and he reached the podium once again when he joined hands with Frenaz Chipia to take the bronze in mixed doubles event where they lost to Maharashtra's pair of Pooja Sahastrabudhe and Aman Balgu of Maharashtra. Even in the individual events, Harmeet and Devesh did not let the fire die down as both boys made it to the podium of the men's individual event as well. While the southpaw Devesh had to be contented with a bronze, Harmeet went a notch ahead and made it to the final where he lost to A Amalraj to grab the silver. With this, Gujarat paddlers wrapped up a very successful Games where they came up with their best-ever show yet. |
